Paws4Minds delivers trauma-aware Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) designed to support children and young people who have experienced poor mental health, adversity or trauma.

 

Our work focuses on emotional regulation, relational safety, and engagement. All interventions are grounded in trauma-informed practice and aligned with the ARC framework (Attachment, Regulation, Competency), ensuring safety, trust, and ethical delivery remain at the heart of everything we do.

Trauma-Informed Regulation Programmes (AAI)

 

Our structured programmes are designed in supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing through trauma-informed Animal-Assisted Intervention.

 

Our programmes are suitable for individual or small-group delivery and is designed to complement existing pastoral, SEND, or mental health support.

 

Programme features include:

  • Individual or small-group sessions

  • ARC-aligned trauma-informed approach

  • Focus on regulation, safety, and engagement

  • Pre- and post-programme outcome measures

  • Written outcomes summary for the setting

 

Mental Health & Wellbeing Awareness,

Trauma-Informed Animal Assisted Interventions

& Training for Staff

 

Practical, evidence-informed training for education, health, and youth professionals exploring trauma-informed principles alongside Animal-Assisted Interventions.

Training is designed to increase confidence, understanding, and ethical practice.

Training options include:

  • Twilight or INSET sessions

  • Half-day training

  • Ethical and trauma-safe use of animals

  • Practical strategies staff can use immediately

 

Trauma-Informed Animal Assisted Interventions Consultancy

 

Ongoing consultancy and professional support for organisations embedding trauma-informed practice and ethical Animal-Assisted Interventions.

This service supports sustainable, safe, and effective implementation of trauma-aware approaches.
